Total was that female R&B group who came into the music world with their own sound and style. This musical trio was formed by three beautiful, young women named Pamela Long, Keisha Spivey and Kima Raynor. These women had sound and style that no one could take from them. The thing that I feel set them apart from other R&B groups, especially female groups, was their voices. All three had a certain quality to their voices that couldn't be found in other groups.
All three members had voices out of this world, but Pam always stood out to me. I don't know what it was about her voice, but I've always found it very mesmerizing and in its own lane. Besides voices, these women invented their own style with dark shades and black leather outfits. They spent some time being featured on other artists' tracks such as The Notorious B.I.G's "Juicy" and "One More Chance". With this rare breed of talent walking around, Sean "Puffy" Combs, CEO of Bad Boy Records, couldn't help but sign them to his label so they could begin work on their debut album.
